Gender, Law and Society Studies (GLASS)

The Gender, Law and Society Studies at the CHLET is engaged with conducting legal and policy research on emerging issues of law and sexuality. The GLASS offers academic courses, holds stakeholder consultations and engages in litigation on questions related to these issues. GLASS has partnered with high-caliber international institutions such as The University of Chicago Law School and The University of Cornell Law School to conduct a variety of studies on a wide range of topics including but not limited to: human trafficking, sex work, and immigration. Currently, GLASS is working steadfastly on several projects examining the legal and social barriers facing gender non-conforming persons in India and abroad.
